Catacomb Snatch Gameplay

After the last post talking about the HumbleBundle Mojam event, I thought I'd show you the basics of Mojang's game, Catacomb Snatch. Made in 60 hours (with sleeping breaks), this game is definitely addictive.

The video consists of a couple short clips of gameplay in which you will see the archaeologist "Lord Lard" (Notch from the Mojang team's Mojam nickname) running around shooting snakes, bats and mummies. You destroy mob spawners by shooting them. You can also set up turrets to help kill enemies and place these things (i'm not sure what they are exactly) around them to collect the coins for you. Bombs cost 500 coins and as you can see, they don't have much of a radius so they are basically a waste of money.

Overall, I'd definitely say this is an indie game that I'm not going to get bored of. I'm constantly dying with the 10 health that my character has and it challenges me to try to strategize better by placing my turrets in more convenient locations.

  1. This game is so cute and retro. I love anykind of shooter. The graphics are pretty good also. Is there a site that I can go to try out the gameplay for myself?
